Baroness as new ALSO UK Patron

Advance Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO-UK) is delighted to announce the appointment of Baroness Julia Cumberlege CBE as their Patron.

Lady Cumberlege is a notable public figure with a strong connection and commitment to UK Maternity Services and an advocate for high quality care to mother and babies. She has recently been the Independent Chair of the National Maternity Review for England and will be forever connected to the Cumberlege Reports in the 1990’s, which sought to radically advance and enhance UK maternity services.

ALSO (UK) is a Charity that provides multidisciplinary education and training for healthcare professional in the safe and effective management of Obstetric Emergencies. They deliver their programmes throughout the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and overseas. Over the last twenty-years, ALSO (UK) have trained over 24,000 Midwives, Obstetrician and other healthcare professionals engaged in the delivery of maternity services. ALSO are part of a Global network seeking to improve the care, conditions and outcomes of women, babies and families throughout the continuum of pregnancy and childbirth.
